Every $1 Becomes $5: Community-Wide 5X Impact Matching Campaign Launches to Strengthen Food Security in Our Region

Huntsville, ON — June 2026 — The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation (TTSKF) is inviting community to come together in a powerful movement of compassion and action through the launch of its 5X Impact Matching Campaign.

Thanks to the generosity of its matching partner, The Sprott Foundation, every $1 donated to TTSKF will be matched with $4—turning each contribution into $5 of direct impact in the fight against food insecurity and poverty across the region.

This campaign will support the expansion of essential services at The Table Plaza, a community-centred space strengthening food access, affordability, education, connection, and long-term pathways to stability.

At a time when many individuals, seniors, families, and working households are facing rising costs, food insecurity, housing pressures, and economic uncertainty, TTSKF is calling on the community to come together in shared action to help build lasting solutions.

This is more than a fundraising campaign; it is an invitation to be part of meaningful, lasting change.

The Table Plaza is a welcoming and inclusive community hub where individuals and families can access nutritious food, affordable essentials, educational opportunities, skills training, creative programming, and community support—all with dignity and respect. Through food rescue, fresh food distribution, free or  affordable groceries, workshops, workforce development, volunteer engagement, arts and culture, and collaborative partnerships, The Table Plaza meets immediate needs while strengthening connections and long-term community resilience. In response to the growing challenges of homelessness in Muskoka, TTSKF is expanding support focused on stability, wraparound care, and meeting emergency housing needs, working alongside partners to connect individuals with resources, relationships, and practical supports that foster safety, dignity, and long-term change.

Through partnerships, volunteerism, food rescue, social enterprise, and sustainable programming, TTSKF is building a stronger local food system while creating opportunities for personal growth, workforce readiness, and community participation.

TTSKF programs and services include:

  • Soup Kitchen

  • Food Bank

  • Exchange Thrift Store

  • Love Connection

  • Food Rescue

  • Community Kitchen

“This campaign belongs to the community,” said Megan Lorius, Executive Director of The Sprott Foundation. “Every donation, volunteer hour, and act of support strengthens a movement rooted in dignity and compassion, ensuring no one in the community is left behind.”

Food insecurity is shaped by more than access to food alone—it is closely tied to affordability, isolation, housing, transportation, mental wellness, education, employment, and broader economic pressures. TTSKF’s approach focuses on both immediate support and long-term, sustainable solutions that restore dignity and strengthen community capacity.

A key component of this work is food rescue and environmental stewardship. Surplus nutritious food is recovered, sorted, prepared, and redistributed to support community members in need. Remaining organic material is redirected to local farmers for animal feed, supporting a circular system that reduces waste.

“We see every day what happens when a community comes together around care and compassion,” said Heather Cassie, Founder and Executive Director of TTSKF. “The need in our community is urgent and continues to grow, with more individuals and families turning to us for support. This campaign is an opportunity to turn generosity into immediate and lasting impact. With every donation being matched, support goes five times further—helping put more food on the table today, strengthen vital programs, respond to food insecurity, and invest in long-term solutions that build a stronger community where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.”

The Table Plaza continues to grow through collaboration with local businesses, farmers, educators, volunteers, artists, community organizations, churches, seasonal residents, and community members committed to practical, compassionate solutions. Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to participate by donating, volunteering, sharing the campaign, hosting fundraisers, or becoming long-term partners in this shared mission.

With every $1 becoming $5, this campaign offers a meaningful opportunity to create immediate and lasting impact together.
